Daniel Spoerri: Palindromic Banquet

This unique conceptual dinner is realized by Caique Tizzi in collaboration with LEVY Galerie and ferro at Wilhelm Hallen.

Daniel Spoerri is best known for his Tableaux pièges—his “trap paintings”—but he also transformed the banquet into a space for artistic experimentation. Among his most remarkable works is the Palindromic Banquet: a menu structured according to the logic of a palindrome—a sequence that unfolds forward before retracing its steps in reverse, returning to its point of origin.

Caique Tizzi is an artist and chef who has been cooking dinners and presenting food installations in museums, galleries and art events across the world. In his projects, food becomes a way to express the ongoing relationships between human culture and nature. The choice of ingredients, cooking methods and historical research are starting points to create multisensorial narratives.
