We’re pleased to spotlight the collaboration between Allen Jones and Whitaker Malem, created for the Met Gala 2026 for Kim Kardashian.

The piece extends Jones’s long-standing inquiry into the body as sculptural form, and into the porous boundary between art object and worn garment. It draws a direct line to Body Armour (1978) and echoes the sculpture Cover Story (2021).

Unveiled on the steps of the Met, the dress enters a wider conversation between art, couture, and pop culture — one Jones has shaped since his emergence within the British Pop Art movement of the 1960s.
