We are pleased to invite you to this year’s ART COLOGNE from November 6 to November 9, 2025 at our booth A-119 in hall 11.2!
At Art Cologne 2025, the gallery presents a booth that stages a dialogue between historical avant-gardes and voices newlywelcomed into the program. On view are works by Meret Oppenheim, Man Ray, and Daniel Spoerri – artists who have beenclosely associated with the gallery for decades – alongside, for the first time, works by Katalin Ladik, Renate Bertlmann, andChristiane Löhr, who will officially join the program in 2026.Meret Oppenheim and Man Ray stand among the central figures of Surrealism. Their works challenge the boundaries ofperception, transforming everyday objects into poetic ciphers and opening up spaces of subversion and imagination. DanielSpoerri, represented by the gallery since the 1960s, continues this impulse with his tableaux pièges and piège-à-mots, in which meanings, signifikat and function of objects and idioms being transfered into new levels of persepction, lose and regain meanings. The artistic strategies of these “long-standing” voices form a resonance chamber in which the new positions unfold. KatalinLadik, a pioneer of visual and concrete poetry, merges language, voice, and body into performative images that radicallyrethink the relationship between medium and identity. Renate Bertlmann has, since the 1970s, confronted social conventionswith feminist, often humorously charged gestures in which eroticism and vulnerability intersect. Christiane Löhr develops adelicate sculptural language from seeds, blossoms, and plant structures, creating fragile yet precise spatial constellations thattransform the experience of space in subtle ways.Placed in dialogue, these practices reveal how artistic methods echo across generations. Oppenheim’s transformation of theeveryday, Man Ray’s playful exploration of object and image, and Spoerri’s frozen moments of conviviality resonate with Ladik’s dissolution of language, Bertlmann’s corporeal metaphors, and Löhr’s ephemeral constructions of nature. Together, they articulate a continuum of artistic imagination that resists fixed interpretation and remains open to ever-new readings. The booth thus becomes a space of transitions: from historical avant-gardes to contemporary feminist and material inquiries, from works that embody the gallery’s long history to those that signal its future.
